چکیده
Abstract Sgr B1 is a luminous H ii region in the Galactic center immediately next to massive star-forming giant molecular cloud B2 and apparently connected it from their similar radial velocities. In 2018 we showed SOFIA FIFI-LS observations of [O iii ] 52 88 ? m lines that there no central exciting star cluster ionizing stars must be widely spread throughout region. Here present i 146 [C 158 formed surrounding photodissociation regions (PDRs). We find these correlate neither with each other nor although together they better 70 Herschel PACS images Hi-GAL. infer this consists number smaller plus associated PDRs, some seen face-on others more or less edge-on. used PDR Toolbox estimate densities far-ultraviolet intensities PDRs. Using models computed Cloudy, demonstrate possible appearances edge-on PDRs show density difference between electron estimated line ratios incompatible pressure equilibrium unless substantial contribution either turbulence magnetic field both. also conclude hot are spaced at distances gas evidence current formation.

Ultracompact H Ii Regions
ABSTRACT We discuss so...
متن کاملQuilt: A Patchwork of Multicast Regions
Network bottlenecks, firewalls, restrictions on IP Multicast availability and administrative policies have long prevented the use of multicast even where the fit seems obvious. The confusion around multicast poses a problem for large-scale pub/sub-based applications that need blazing speed even across WAN networks. There are a number of multicast protocols, but none is universally available. Th...
متن کاملDiscovery of Intergalactic H ii Regions
We have discovered a number of very small isolated H ii regions 20-30 kpc from their nearest galaxy. The H ii regions appear as tiny emission line dots (ELdots) in narrow band images obtained by the NOAO Survey for Ionization in Neutral Gas Galaxies (SINGG). We have spectroscopic confirmation of 5 isolated H ii regions in 3 systems. The Hα luminosities of the H ii regions are equivalent to the ...
متن کاملPhotoevaporation of Clumps in Photodissociation Regions
We present the results of an investigation of the effects of Far Ultraviolet (FUV) radiation (6.0eV < hν < 13.6eV) from hot early type OB stars on clumps in star-forming molecular clouds. Clumps in FUV-illuminated regions (or pho-todissociation regions or PDRs) undergo external heating and photodissociation as they are exposed to the FUV field, resulting in a loss of cold, molecular clump mass ...
متن کاملQuasar H II Regions During Cosmic Reionization
Cosmic reionization progresses as H II regions form around sources of ionizing radiation. Their average size grows continuously until they percolate and complete reionization. We demonstrate how this typical growth can be calculated around the largest, biased sources of UV emission such as quasars by further developing an analytical model based on the excursion set formalism. This approach allo...
